A Scholastic Kid Reporter is a young journalist aged 10–14, selected to cover news for the Scholastic Kids Press program. These reporters cover local, national, and international stories, producing articles on topics like school life, politics, and entertainment, published on the Scholastic website and classroom magazines.
They provide "news for kids, by kids," aiming to inform peers about current events, literature, and social issues.

To be considered, applicants must be a resident of Canada or the USA between 10 and 14 years old at the start of the 2026-2027 school year and enrolled in fifth through eighth grade. Typically, this includes those born between September 1, 2012, and August 31, 2016.
